Kids in this day and age are growing up in a world full of technology. Always relying so much on the tech. stuff that they have that they don't take the time to learn how to use a simple can opener. What do we do about this? We can take the time to teach the youth of America about things other than the internet, computers, and technology. I believe that there's a point where things must be changed. For the better hopefully. If we emerse ourselves in technology so fully we might begin to lose the essence of who we are and what we could be.
I heard tell that kids are now spending about half their time on sites like facebook and twitter now. Their losing their ablility to talk to people face to face. So they hide themselves from the world in their own personal world of make believe thinking that people won't accept them unless their tall, thin, dark and handsome. They should be assertive but they aren't. We talk to people online but aren't confronted for those actions and if we are we can turn the conversation off and go about our business. You can be confident online where in person you might be really insecure. I myself have had too many fights with my friends online than I ever would have had in person or on the phone. I'm too blunt for my own good online.
But I'm not the only one. What the heck is wrong with this picture?!
My advice today would be this;
Take the time to get off the computer, away from your cell phones, away from technology, and actually talk to people. Get to know people. Get out there in the real world. You might find that the world is a little more accepting than you might think. And when you do assert yourself out there in the world; then you will be all the better for it. Thank you for your time!
